Between 18-22 September 2017, Obducat exhibited and presented a talk at the 43rd edition of MNE, held at INL – International Iberian Nanotechnology, in Braga, Portugal. The event, attracting international attendees, brings together engineers and scientists to discuss recent progress and future trends in research, fabrication, and applications of micro and nano devices.
Interest from academia and industry
CEO Patrik Lundström remarks, “Due to the international presence, MNE offered several new inquiries related to Obducat processing tools from existing customers as well as new customers from around the world. Additionally, there is wide interest from both academia as well as industry to enter into various type of collaborations with Obducat – it’s clear that we are one of the preferred partners when it comes to lithography capabilities and know-how.”
Broader adoption for nano litography
The general impression from the conference is that there is a broader adoption expected into industry for nano lithography. So far, is has mainly been implemented in niche applications which are typically low volume oriented. There are ongoing projects in established niche applications where the customers plan to move the technology into main stream products.
Patrik continues “In parallel, it is also clear that there are many new types of devices being developed which can only be realized in high volume manufacturing by using the capabilities offered by nano lithography processes.”
Obducat presented the talk, “Production method and system for Wire Grid Polarizers on G5 substrates”. In upcoming news, we will focus on large substrate NIL and its application into nano Wire Grid Polarizers (nWGP), within which Obducat technologies offers unique and enabling capabilities, which can have a positive impact on LCD displays performance.
