Report from NIL INDUSTRIAL DAY 2017

Obducat is attending the 7th edition of the NIL Industrial Day symposium in Berlin.

Patrik Lundström, VD at Obducat, Kristian Thulin, VP Business Development at Obducat and Konrad Walter, Senior Sales Manager at solar-semi attending NIL Industrial Day 2017.

NIL Industrial Day is the major event supplementing the academic and scientific oriented conferences with the aim to inform industrial early adopters and those companies evaluating to invest in Nanoimprint Lithography (NIL) as manufacturing method on the status of NIL for production purpose.

The program cover the following topics:

•           Nanopatterning Applications in Life-Sciences & Photonics

•           Industrial Nanopatterning: Solutions

•           Industrial Nanopatterning: Production

•           Future Visions & Associated Technologies

We asked Patrik Lundström, CEO of Obducat, to answer a few questions about Obducat’s presence at NIL Industrial Day:

What are your expectations for this year’s NIL Industrial Day?

Patrik: It’s an event where most of the European NIL community is gathering which is a great opportunity to get the latest update on progress in general when it comes to the industrialization of NIL. We will also have several customer meetings scheduled during the conference.

Obducat is not only attending, but also sponsoring, NIL Industrial Day. Why is it an important event for Obducat?

Patrik: For us it is an important that there are events like these because it creates the opportunity for our customers to present their development work which has been done by using Obducat’s technologies. Several of our customers gave presentations during the conference.

What are trends that you can see from this year’s NIL Industrial Day?

Patrik: It is quite clear that most of the commercial potential for NIL technology can be found in two big technology areas – photonics as well as bio medicals. Various type of sensors for e.g. diagnostic purposes are being developed as well as components for data communication. In general, there is a shared view that NIL is moving towards industrialization at a higher pace compared to one year ago. Material technology is also becoming more important as a means to successfully realize the industrialization.
