The Quickstep system will be installed in the cleanroom facilities of the Physical Department at IOM in Leipzig. IOM conducts interdisciplinary, application-oriented basic research focusing on topics related to the interaction of radiation with matter. The core competencies of the IOM are the modification and development of functional adaptive surfaces, including thin films, together with their characterization. For that, various high-tech methods, respective specialized techniques employing ion, electron and laser beams as well as plasmas are used. The main objective is the sustainable transfer of know-how towards the industry. For this, the IOM is involved in a large number of close cooperative relationships with universities, other research institutions and industry in Germany and abroad.
The Quickstep system is planned to be delivered first quarter 2017.
